Betterment Grants
06.30.2010 -
Betterment Grants will be considered for projects and activities that serve the people in the North Platte area defined as the Nebraska counties of Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson and Perkins.
Grants are made only to qualified non-profit organizations such as federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations and qualified government organizations. Grants are NOT made to individuals.
Betterment Grants are made in six basic areas: - Community Development
- Culture
- Education
- Environment
- Health
- Human Services
Projects are favored that will make a major impact, will lead in making a needed change or will contribute to the solution of an important problem. Grants are NOT made to support regular operating budgets of organizations. | | "The Canteen Spirit" documentary told the story of the North Platte Canteen during World War II. Several funds administered by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation provided funding to help produce the documentary.

Most awards for Betterment Grants range from $500 to $5,000. Grant awards may differ from the amount of grant money requested.
Betterment Grants are funded largely from Field-of-Interest Funds and Unrestricted Funds. The North Platte area forever will be grateful for the generosity and vision of the charitable people who established and donated to those funds. Click here for a listing of Funds for Grants to Worthy Causes.
Deadline dates for applications for Betterment Grants are: January 15 April 15 July 15 October 15
Grants are made after a competitive review of grant applications submitted by each application deadline. Typically, there are far more requests for funds than there are funds available to grant.
Grant applications must be made using Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation’s application form. Application form and policy for Non-Profit Project Grants are available from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation. Click here for information about contacting Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.
