Funds We Administer
Many types of funds meet diverse charitable goals


Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation administers a wide variety of charitable and scholarship funds to meet diverse charitable goals. Each fund has its own specifications.

Donations to the Community Foundation including those for Book of Memory entries may be made to virtually any existing fund or be made to establish a new fund:


North Platte Community Playhouse Fund benefits the playhouse and its restored Fox Theatre facility.


Funds for Agencies, Causes, Communities
  • Non-profit organizations establish Agency Funds for financial support of their missions.
  • Designated agency or project funds set up by individuals or groups support specific organizations or projects.
  • Community Funds benefit specific communities.
  • Operations Funds provide funding for administration of Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.
Funds for Grants to Worthy Causes
  • Donor-Advised Funds provide for donor involvement in grant making.
  • Field-of-Interest Funds provide for grants within donor-specified areas of interest.
  • Unrestricted Funds provide maximum flexibility to meet changing community needs.
  • Deferred Gift Funds provide future gifts to charitable causes.
Funds for Scholarships
  • Scholarship Funds help students who meet selection criteria

Charitable funds earn tax-exempt investment returns
Charitable assets within funds are invested and earnings are exempt from taxes. Earnings on invested assets are allocated proportionately to each permanent fund. Earnings on endowment funds have had long-term average returns of 8.6% per year. Each year portions of the funds are used to finance scholarships as well as disbursements to non-profit organizations and worthy causes.
